Template: Embittered Imperial Captain

Species: Human

Age: 38

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Adrelic is a tall man of 6'3" with a trim well kept build. He has wavy dark brown hair that has begun to grey prematurely at the temples. His eyes are a clear icy blue, that can be both good natured and extremely intimidating. Despite the years of war and age, Adrelic remains a more distinguished version of the handsome dashing youth that he used to be. At almost all times, Adrelic can be seen wearing the standard grey/olive uniform of an Imperial officer. His knee boots are always polished to a sparkle, as he prides himself on being well groomed. It should be noted that Adrelic, being very resourceful, has been known to use his physical appearance to his advantage if needed.

History: Adrelic was born on Coruscant during the pinnacle of the Empire's glory. He was the middle son of Maxillian Branisch, a high ranking Imperial politician and Jax'aine Branisch, a ship's design engineer. As a child, Adrelic grew up in a upper-class privileged household. He did not see his parents very often, but he was more than given all the civil liberties his family name allowed him. But, all of this soon ended. After the Empire's defeat at Endor and its subsequent downfall, His family left Coruscant, taking him and his two brothers to the still-Imperial controlled planet of Yaga Minor. From an early age Adrelic knew he wanted to be in the Imperial Navy. And, while he was duly encouraged to pursue politics like his father and older brother, he would not be swayed. As soon as he could, he enrolled in Imperial Fleet Academy on Yaga Minor. Here he excelled in a number of subjects, including both naval and intelligence tactics. Early on Adrelic proved himself to be extremely resourceful and unorthodox in battle simulations. He also excelled at the fine art of interrogation. It seemed that Adrelic possessed a keen ability to tap into human pain, a foreshadowing perhaps of his life to come. He was encouraged to enter Imperial Intelligence, but turned down the offer. It was the Navy or nothing for him. With honors Adrelic moved onto his officer training, where he was taught the skills of a line captain.Because of his high academic status, he was allowed to attend the prestigous and secretive Imperial Academy. So, it was under the flag of the fledgling Empire that Adrelic graduated from the Academy. He was stationed on Parmac, where he was given the somewhat dissapointing task of serving as an on planet assistant to the regional moff. Where was the glory of battle? Where was the rush of bridge command? Adrelic was told that there were simply not enough capital ships left in the Empire that had room for an officer such as himself. He was told he had to wait. Not entirely believing this reasoning, Adrelic was forced to accept his station in life, an unorthodox officer stuck in a desk job. Watching the Empire falling into continual disarray, Adrelic married and carried out menial interrogations and transport errands for the moff. He was seriously considering a career change when his chance came. It seemed that Grand Admiral Thrawn had returned from the Unknown Regions. Adrelic was assigned to serve aboard the Chimera, Thrawn's flagship. He had finally been given his turn at glory and the means to witness the destruction of the New Republic for good. Still relatively young and inexperienced, Adrelic began to learn the skills that he had always yearned for. Carefully laid out plans, brilliant unorthodox tactics, respect for his fellow officers, an unwasteful use of men and resources, all these things and more he learned as a lieutenant on the Chimera. For the first time in his life, he saw the impending doom of the Rebellion and the restoration of the Empire. Adrelic was rather ideal then. For Thrawn was eventually defeated and the Chimera was forced to retreat into the Outer Rim with the rest of the Imperial fleet. Adrelic had witnessed the Grand Admiral's association first hand and found he was greatly troubled. Yet, he had not known then that while away, his wife and two daughters had been killed in the midst of the chaos in a violent political uprising on Parmac. When hearing the news, Adrelic immiedietly blamed the Rebels for their deaths. The true perpetrators are still unknown to this day. Embittered and angry, Adrelic turned his back on Parmac. Any last vestiges of naiveté he still possessed died. "I am married to the Navy now," he stated. In the many years that have passed since then, he has devoted his entire being to the regrouping and restoring of the Empire. He sleeps little and commands with frightening bravado. Adrelic will not stop until the New Republic is destroyed, or he dies trying. Either way seems to suit him fine.

Possessions: Adrelic does not own very many things. The military lifestyle allows for little sentiment. He keeps a handful of momentos of his wife and children in a lockbox in his quarters, he opens it less and less as the years go by. He has a few unmeaningful artifacts from various planets decorating his sparse living space. He also has a small collection of oddball blasters locked away somewhere that he has nearly forgotten about.

Abilities: Years of serving in the Imperial Navy have left Adrelic with a wealth of knowledge of not only the Imperial side but that of the surrounding universe. Adrelic is a well rounded officer, who is well versed in the areas of astrogation, navigation, defense systems, weaponry, starfighter support tactics, capital ship tactics and so on. He coordinates Navy and Army forces well. Becasue of his training as a line captain, Adrelic excells in commanding fleet situations. His most specialized talent is his ability to preform a stellar interrigation, an ability Adrelic picked up early on in life. Using a combination of his own physical presence, the infamous Imperial interrigation droid and his own experienced ability to tap into human pain, Adrelic has gained something of a reputation in this field. Little is known about Adrelic's outside interests, but he seems to enjoy studying psycology and medicine. He also keeps a wary eye on politics, most likely because of his older brother. He is a decent hand to hand fighter and marksman, who doesn't neccessarily turn his nose up to physical tasks.

Personality: Adrelic is a complicated person, often contradicting himself and his ideals. One minute he can be surprisingly fair and the next be inhumanly cruel. "He can be moody," as carefully noted by junior officers. There is no doubt that Adrelic carries a very vengeful chip on his shoulder. He has been known to let personal feelings cloud his judgement. At times he seems much too bitter and tired to carry on. Many say he's losing his edge. Others say he never belonged in the Navy in the first place. He's too much of a "feely humanist" to be a commander they say. Adrelic's unorthadox methods have often led him to be shunned by his peers. On the other hand, Adrelic is a very effective leader. He demands and gives respect to those he commands as well as his superior officers. He is extremely resourceful, doing whatever must be done to get the job done. He's not afraid to roll up his sleeves and do the dirty work himself if need be. He is a quick thinker who adapts quickly to new situations and possesses all around good knowledge. In battle, Adrelic is generally cool headed, snapping commands and expecting them to be followed. In those few moments of peace in Adrelic's life, he enjoys socializing with those around him. Yet, he is a very private person, letting nobody get close to him. His crewmates know little about him and he prefers to keep it that way. Adrelic walks and moves with confidence and authority, which could also be called haughtiness. Interrogating aside, he is good mannered and repsectful. When speaking, his voice resounds with years of command. Adrelic does have another more quirky side to his personality that sometimes comes out. A sarcastic, candid side that makes one wonder what his true personality really is.

Objectives: To see the Empire reunited in it's former glory and the destruction of the "New Republic." To once again set foot on an Imperial controlled Coruscant. On a more personal note, Adrelic secretly wishes to silence his inner demons once and for all.

Quote: "I don't particularily like death, but if we don't rid the galaxy of those who continue to adhere to it....those who promote disorder and anarchy...then death will only continue..."

Misc: In many ways Adrelic is a typical Imperial captain but in many ways he is not. He is not really an evil person but a flawed individual with a mind full of inner demons
