Physical Description: Like Jedi Master Saesee Tiin of Episode One, Edim-Alta is  incredibly tall and massive, with two black downswept horns protruding from his temples, framing his face, especially his intense purple eyes. One of his horns is broken near the tip and jagged, an old injury which he wears proudly. 

Background: Edim-Alta was a contemporary of Saesee Tiin, but has long been thought dead and one with the Force. In actuality, he has been in suspended animation for the past 60 odd years, due to a remarkable set of circumstances. Shortly before the Trade Federation blockade of Naboo, his ship was returning to Coruscant when it was set upon by an unidentified black fighter craft with a needle-like nose and wings curved like parenthesis. Even the famous Iktotchi racial piloting prowess was no match for whoever was at the controls of that fighter and Edim-Alta was forced to flee into an asteroid field of frozen ice to seek cover. However, his attacker proved to be more than a match for the Jedi Knight and was able to down Jedi on the nearby icy planet of Hoth. Severely wounded, Edim-Alta was able to land the ship safely, although it would never fly again and  even managed to dock and hide it in an icy cave. From inside the cave, he knew the pilot of the ship that forced him down would come looking for him, and he was too weakened to  fight, so with his last moments fast approaching, he sealed the cave with a last blast of his ship's weapons. However, the collapse of the entrance triggered the full collapse of the cave and the ship was buried, the Jedi still in it. Realizing the futility of attempted escape, he accepted his death calmly and willed himself into a Jedi Trance to await a peaceful death. However, the will of the Force was otherwise. The storm outside buried the ship in an impenetrable block of ice, rock and snow, but inside, the Jedi had slipped into total suspended animation, preserved only through the Force. 
60 years later, a mining team on Hoth, digging for Rebel artifacts under the old Rebel base unearthed the ship and revived the Jedi. Startled at the mere fact of his survival and the time passed, he now works to restore the old Jedi Order and seeks the new Jedi to join and teach. 

Personality: Outwardly, Edim-Alta is stoic and radiates calm at almost all times. Despite his gruff, fearsome exterior, he is a gentle soul, and also appreciates a good joke as much as any. However, his thoughts are sometimes haunted by those he left behind, and although he knows it was the will of the Force that he be saved from Vader's Jedi purge, he wonders how much he could have done if he had been there. Nevertheless, his mind is very much on the future, rather than the past and hopes to raise the Jedi to the level of greatness they once had. 

Objectives: - The furthering of the Jedi as a whole. 
                      - Raising the overall quality of life in the New Republic. 
                      - Using the time he has been given to accomplish as much as he can for the good of all. 

Quote: "In my day, the Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. That Republic is gone, but peace and justice need guardians still, perhaps even more, now.“ 

Miscellaneous: Aside from being an excellent pilot, Edim-Alta possesses a natural, racial telepathy which is only enhanced by the Force. His ability in the Force is very strong, and he would have been a great Jedi Master given time. He was also very adept at lightsaber combat and it was said that his purple lightsaber was never off his hip for more than 30 seconds when he drew it for combat, which was rare. Surprisingly, he was also an accomplished singer, with a great love for music. 

OOC: Player's Favorite Scene: For sheer action, the final lightsaber duel between Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi Wan and Darth Maul in Ep1, but for sentimentality, it's when everyone is together on Endor after the second Battle of the Death Star, and Luke sees his father join Obi Wan and Yoda.
