Physical Description:
Loki Mandrell is Half Chirin- a Huge Biped Cat creature native to the System
Mpaco-and half human, which makes her a gorgeous, yet exotic creaure. She
is humanoid, quite thin, well muscled and is covered multicolored spotted
fur, like a leopard. She keeps her unruly naturally electric blue hair
in a short pixie like cut around her tall pointed ears. Six inch razor
sharp retractable claws grace her long fingers which also have strange
awakening attributes. Her lime green catlike eyes sparatically change color
with extreme emotion and she has the ability to spit poison, which she
detests beyond anything and never uses. She is quite graceful and pliable,
making hard tasks for a normal
being look extremely easy, like jumping
great distances. She is also known for a vertical scar running from her
right eyebrow to about an inch under her eye and the amused smirk that
most often graces her features. Though she is 27, she looks about 17.
Background:
Loki Mandrell was born Lokine' Rorrick, during the chaotic time of the
Empire. Rather then have her young daughter
taken to the Emperor by her Imperial father, Loki's mother sent the Force
Sensitive child away to live with a traveling band of Space Gypsies roaming
the galaxy. There, Lokine' learned her story and that her father was an
'Imp'. She refused to take his name and took the name Loki Mandrell, Mandrell
meaning "Who the Hell are you?" in Ferrekian, the clan's native tongue.
It was a phrase often asked of her, so she figured it was a name. She was
six at the time. Loki learned all the ways of a Spacer by a young age and
was generally accepted into that life. After the fall of the Empire, Loki
Mandrell was found by a stranded Jedi and taken to the Jedi Temple to train
as a knight. There, she prospered and became nearly the head of her class
and the pride of her master. A week before she was too be knighted, and
two days before her 24th birthday, Loki enrolled to be in a P. G. (Padawan
Game). Basically, two teams of Jedi
Apprentices run around the jungles of
Yavin 4 to reach a goal by working together to overcome obstacles. Half
way into the mission, Loki's group of four was ambushed by a group of slaver
pirates that had been passing through the system. The small group put up
a good fight, but in the end one of Loki's best friends died in the battle
and the rest were stunned and taken away. The three apprentices woke up
in a cell aboard the slaver ship. After a while, they began to feel their
energy diminishing at a fast rate. After about a day
in the holding cell, the youngest apprentice
passed out into Loki's arms and died a few minutes later. Loki and the
other Padawan conserved their energy until a pirate came to take them The
others conserved their energy until a pirate came to take them away.
They were led to a small dust ball of
a planet on the Outer Rim known for its secret prototype ships that appeared
every once in a while from that region. There, they were put sale. After
a while and a lot of pacing around their holding pen, Loki came up with
a plan for their escape. She had located their sabers on a table nearby,
also for sale. After both finally being sold to a burly Wookie factory
owner, they waited for their chance to steal their sabers and take off
down the street toward the ship yard. And they did. Only when they reached
the hanger doors did they notice the pirates chasing after them, blasters
firing. Loki spotted a huge ship of a kind she had never seen before being
painted nearby. What a way to spend a birthday. She turned to tell the
other Padawan of the ship only to see him take a direct laser hit and fall.
Loki refused to let her anger or her fear get to her as she jumped in the
half painted ship and made her first of countless close escapes into space.
Loki instantly adored the ship, which was easy to control and who she came
to find out had a name-Drex, and could actually hold friendly conversation.
She was told that she was now its official pilot and the ship would never
be far off, wherever she went. Loki christened the ship the "Space Gypsi"
after the Space Gypsies that she had lived with for most of her
life. She finally made her way back to
Yavin IV, where she was greeted with hugs, tears, and many "we thought
you were dead" 's. But that didn't last long. Loki was taken before the
council and was made to relive her story. After careful consideration,
Loki was told that she was to be expelled from the Order for the "Chance
that she might turn." Even her old master went along with the decision.
Loki spent the next few days in a depressed shock
which heightened when they also told her
though that she was 24, she would be made to live with a foster family
for a few years to get aquatinted with civilian life. She was sent to Coruscant,
where she was given to a double sided family that might as well been Sith.
They lived in the most run down area of the "bad" part of town. The Camdaneers
owned a greasy little pub next to the Illegal speeder tunnel race course.
Loki was given three rules once entering the household. "Shut up, bartend,
don't ask questions." In Loki's opinion, she was a Jedi, and this was not
her life. After about a week, she split, only to get lost in the grungiest
side of town. Looking in her pockets, she found a small device with a button
on it, saying Push for Retrieval. Loki gave it a push and in a near instant,
the Space Gypsi
appeared hovering overhead, a metallic
rope extended in greeting. Loki climbed aboard, leaving her old life behind.
As the years have gone on, Loki has kept her Jedi ways, though few people
know of it. She knows someone on about five hundred planets and has enemies
on at least half, who know her only as the "Night Ghost" for her black
attire and catlike manner. She has collected about 100 droids on her ship,
each with an individual personality, some shy, some mean, obedient, etc.
She even has a few "ancient" federation battle droids, which have been
painted with lovely murals by hand and given new life as crew of the Space
Gypsi.
Personality:
Loki Mandrell has a fiery spirit and a knack for getting herself (and anyone
else around) into trouble. Though she
doesn't crave adventure, she does enjoy it when it comes along, which is
very often in her case. She has often been described as your typical hardened
spacer, which is much mistaken. Over the years she has closed up and doesn't
talk much, considering that in many cases, too much talk can get you shot.
She is often silent and thoughtful and thinks things though down to the
last detail. She is witty and takes nothing personal unless it's intentionally
life threatening. When in a tight spot, she absently takes to pacing the
floor. Also, in very rare instances, she has been known to hiss very catlike
in extreme circumstances.
Objectives:
Loki secretly wishes to prove herself to Jedi and finally be named a knight.
She has kept her word to the Order and
still upholds the Code, no matter what the Council said. Loki also would
love to one day try the Kessel Run in the Space Gypsi, just to see how
it would hold up.
Quote:
"Why do I wear black? I wear black because I'm a walking rainbow, that's
why!" or "After the space slug, the rabid wamp rats, the Imperial dog fight,
and running out of gas in Pirate territory, what's the worst that could
happen?"
Miscellaneous:
Quirks: Loki has a habit of calling everyone "kid," no matter what their
age. She also loves herbal tea and old books and has basically an entire
library of old Literature. She is also the lead Zoj'ii (kind of like guitar
with 7 strings) player and vocalist in a rock band on Coruscant called
the "Stormtrooper Rejects" Flaws: She can't stay angry at things for very
long. She also quite impatient with time wasters and people who get in
the way. She also has a knack for giving people inferiority complexes unintentionally
for being such a know-it-all. Abilities-Loki has mastered the Jedi arts
of levitation, speed, and grace along with the ability to use a light whip
with dead accuracy. Besides being a great pilot, she has a relatively fair
knowledge of healing tactics and a way with calming people down.
