Renata Sechiennes

Template: Imperial Cadet

Species: Unknown Humanoid

Age: about 17 standard years

Gender: Female

Height: 1.6 m (about 5'3“)

Weight: 45 kg (about 100 lbs)

Physical Description: Renata is a small girl, but she doesn't look like she would be much of a victim. Her hair is a deep red wine colour, her eyes match her hair. Her hair is about waist length, and she keeps it pulled back for the most part. She wears the standard Imperial Cadet uniform most of the time. She looks completely human, which helps in a xenophobic Empire.

Background: Renata comes from a distant world invaded by the Empire in Palpatine's days, which is still on the edge of the New Empire. Her people, naturally Force sensitive, were subjugated by the Empire. Those who weren't smart enough to hide their amazing abilities were purged. Renata instinctively hid her powers with ease, for she was not aware of her ability until much later in her stay with the Empire. Renata's family served the Emprie loyally, and therefore survived on their homeworld. Mr. and Mrs. Sechiennes were allowed to keep their modest business under Imperial control. Once the Empire fell after the battle of Endor, since Renata's homeworld is still in the Imperial sector, Imperial regulations were not lifted. Soon after the initial invasion, Imperial taxes bcame so high that native families couldln't pay them. The Empire offered a solution for htis: each family sent its eldest child to the Imperial acadamy for a tax break. Renata's elder brother, Beffroi, gradutated from teh Acadamy. Rapidly rising in his ranks, Beffroi rose to the rank of seargent, but he was killed honourably in battle. Beffori received an hounourable return to his homeworld. Although the Sechiennes haad sent their son to the Acadamy and served the Empire, taxes were again raised and it was required that the next eldest, Renata, attend the Acadamy.
At the Acadamy, Renata's usually quiet and reserved nature became amplified. Her reclusiveness is fueled by the fact that she is not entirely human and the instilled fear of the xenophobic Empire that she has been raised with. The other Cadets began to grow suspicious of Renata. However, without conclusive evidence against her humanity-which Renata had not given to date-the other cadets soon lost interest in her and focused their attention on more important cadet matters, like graduation for the older cadets.
After three years aboard the star destroyer “Incendiary“ commanded by Leiala -and constant snide remarks byt the resident moron Ron DeViro-Renata's Force-sensitivity revealed itself. Ron had made the remark that broke the bantha's back and Renata snapped. She clenched her fists at her side, wishing she could strangle him then and there. Ron dropped to the floor, gasping for breath. Amazed at this outcome, Renata remained motionless for a few moments while med crews attended to Ron. Renata made her way to her quarters where her Force-sensitive commander relaised Renata's potential. Commander Ameliorer itnroduced Renata to Ebony Basilisk, Leiala's former master. Lady Basilisk wound up on teh “Incendiary“ because Commander Ameliorer's murdered father requested Lady Basilisk's duties later, so instead of killing the real Lady Basilisk at the and of her training, young Leiala killed a doppleganger. Renata became apprenticed to Ebony Basilisk, and this is where she currently is.
Because of the murder of the commander's father, suspicions among the cadets have returned to Renata and other cadets. Included in the list of suspects are Lydia and Ron, to name a few. The newest cadet, Rori Firehawk, is not above suspicion, especially since Commander Ameliorer took exception to Rori. However, Rori and her cousin Kevin believe that Renata is innocent, which helps Renata's confidence immensly.

Personality: Renata is fairly reclusive, especially since she is not entirely human in a xenophobic Empire. However, Renata's abilities keep her fairly in the background-not getting any special attention for excellent work, nor for poor performances-and she's been content, for she's helping her family back on her homeworld. Because her people were mixed with humans (and full humans pay the same taxes  in a bizarre display of fairness by the Empire) there is no real suspicion of Renata being anything else than a full human. Although the New Empire is less xenophobic than the old Empire, the xenophobia still exists and Renata keeps her profile low. Renata is one to keep her feelings bottled up, but when she snaps (once in a blue moon) look out-as Ron found out.

Objectives: To graduate from the Imperial Acadamy and stay in the Empire to help her family survive

Quote: “Be more than you seem to be, 'Nata, always.“ ~Mr. Sechiennes to Renata as she left for the Acadamy

Miscellaneous: Renata is naturally Force-sensitive, but since she didn't discover it until later in her life, she has the potential to be quite dangerous. She is really a genius in hand-to-hand combat, instinctively, and she tends to do fairly well in the training melees, but if she put her full mind to it she would surpass Ron and Lydia-the top two cadets. Renata believes herself to be more than she appears, but less than she actually is. Hopefully training with Lady Basilisk will help 'Nata overcome this small flaw...Hopefully
