"It's a boy Lia, a boy!" Obi-Wan gushed, placing the
howling infant on her chest. His eyes sparkled with
unshed tears as he kissed Lia's forehead. "You've
got a son." His voice is quiet now.
Lia is crying, her eyes fixed on the now silent baby
suckling at her breast. Just like his father, she can't
help thinking. "Qui-Gon's son." She chokes out through
the tears.
"What will you call him?" Obi-Wan asks.
"Qui-Han Jinn."
****************
"Lia? What's wrong?" Qui-Gon asked, moving to
sit beside her on the edge of the bed. She was staring
blankly ahead, tears streaming down her face. "Lia?"
"What?" She replied with a start, then suddenly threw
her arms around the Jedi master. "Oh Qui-Gon!"
"What is it?" He was truly puzzled now. One minute they
were talking and climbing into bed, the next Lia is lost and
in tears and now this.
Laughing, she released him. "I think I've just had a look
at the future. We are going to have a son!"
"Really!" He could not stop himself from beaming. He
knew glimpses into the future did not always come to
pass, but he also knew that many did. It had been a
private dream of his for quite some time that the two of
them might someday have a child together. "A son.
Our son. And you were pleased about this?"
"Of course I was pleased! I love you Qui-Gon Jinn!
Who else would I be having children with?"
Qui-Gon laughed, letting himself fall back on the bed.
Lia joined him, laying at his side. "You make me so
happy." He said, shifting his body to face her. He draped
his thigh over her body, using it to pull her closer.
"Nothing would make me happier than to give
you a child, but right now I'm not ready to share you yet.
Not even with our son." She said caressing the muscular
thigh that lay over her.
"One day I will scale back my field missions, perhaps
then you will be ready."
"Perhaps." Lia smiled, giving his buttocks a quick squeeze,
causing the Jedi master's hips to thrust forward involuntarily.
She felt the evidence of his arousal press against her
stomach and a series of erotic images and sensations
flooded her consciousness. Lia moaned softly as she
was reduced to a quivering mass of want and desire.
She too could use their link for seduction, with it she conveyed
images of her own as well as the unquenchable desire
he had ignited in her.
Qui-Gon kissed her fiercely as he moved to cover her
body with his own. Lia wrapped her legs around his waist,
then reached between their bodies to grasp his hard shaft.
Qui-Gon groaned in her mouth as she stroked his length.
It was fiery hot as she placed the tip against her wet opening,
coating him with her juices. Qui-Gon plunged inside her
with a grunt. Lia dug her nails into his back as he crashed
against her cervix again and again. Their bodies slapped
together as their lovemaking became more intense. He
moved his hips with such precision that Lia found herself
coming quickly. She cried out in the grips of her orgasm,
squeezing his thick pounding member as she came.
Qui-Gon moved his mouth to Lia's shoulder, kissing,
sucking then biting as he came inside her, filling her
with his hot seed.
The Jedi master collapsed on his back, taking Lia
with him. "I love you," he panted.
"I love you too," she said sitting up, his now shrinking
penis still inside her. She smiled at him through
lust clouded eyes, her hips starting to grind into
him.
Qui-Gon gripped Lia's thighs as she moved against
him. Her body glistened with sweat, her movements
became more pronounced, more erotic. Qui-Gon's
body responded, his penis fully erect again. Lia
was close to climax and moaning steadily as she
squeezed her breasts. She will drive me insane,
he thought as his hands joined hers. He roughly
kneeded her breasts, pushing her over the edge.
Lia shrieked, coming hard.
Qui-Gon pulled her forward, pressing his erection
further inside her. He kissed her hungrily, then, his
voice hoarse, said, "Fuck me Lia."
"Yes Master," she teased. Lia kissed his lips, tasting
him. She nipped at his bearded chin, then moved to
lick his straining neck muscles. He moaned loudly
as she continued to tease him with her tongue and
teeth. Lia took a tight nipple between her teeth as
she started her ride. Slowly she moved, savoring
every inch of Qui-Gon's length. Releasing his nipple,
she picked up speed, riding him harded and faster
with each stroke. He seemed to be growing even
larger inside her as she moved. Qui-Gon's hands
gripped Lia's buttocks as he felt he release approaching.
Qui-Gon roared, filling Lia once more with his hot seed.
She slowed her ride coming again before letting
herself fall to rest on Qui-Gon.
*********************
Qui-Gon was still smiling when he'd left to meet Obi-Wan
the next morning. Lia had never seen him so happy. Their
life together was perfect, she thought joyfully. Wanting to
share her news, Lia activated the viewscreen set in the
wall and contacted her parents on Alderaan. Her mother's
face appeared on the screen.
"Tsalia! How nice to hear from you," Malya Elmir exclaimed
to her daughter.
"Qui-Gon and I are going to have a son!" Lia could not
contain herself.
"What? You're pregnant?" Her mother gasped.
"No, in the future I mean." She explained, realizing she
had started the conversation at the wrong place.
"In the future." Malya Elmir's face reddened as she continued,
"That little troll promised he wouldn't tell you! I knew I could
not trust him!"
"Troll? What troll? What are you talking about?"
"Yoda, of course. He told you his vision, did he not?" Lia's
mother stated angrily.
"I have no idea what you're talking about. I just wanted to
tell you I had a glimpse of the future last night and in it I gave
birth to Qui-Gon's son. I thought you would be happy for us,
for me."
Her mother's features softened as she spoke again, "Oh
Lia, was Qui-Gon in your vision?"
"What do you mean?" Lia felt the anger building inside her.
She knew her mother had never wanted her to return to
Coruscant and had tried to get her to leave Qui-Gon so that
her visions of Lia in great pain and sorrow might not come
to pass. She always insisted that it was Qui-Gon's death that
caused the suffering she had seen.
"I think you know Lia."
"He was there," Lia lied.
*****************
"Thank you for seeing me so soon, Master Yoda." Lia said
taking a chair in the tiny Jedi's office.
"Questions you have, I sense."
"Last night I had look at the future. It was the first time it had
happened to me. In it I gave birth to a son. Qui-Gon's son."
The old master sighed. "Did Qui-Gon you see?"
"No I didn't see him. That doesn't mean he wasn't there
though." Why were they trying to take away her happiness!
"And it certainly doesn't mean he was dead!"
"To your mother you did speak." Yoda said. Lia nodded.
"Tell me of your vision. What you did see."
Lia closed her eyes concentrating on the images that
had come to her the night before. "I was lying on a bed,
then Obi-Wan told me it was a boy. He placed the baby
on my chest. I said 'Qui-Gon's son'. We cried together.
I was happy."
"On Obi-Wan you must now focus, aged has he?"
She didn't know why she hadn't seen it before but
Obi-Wan was changed. "His padawan braid is gone
and his hair is longer. I didn't notice that last night. He
is older, by how much I'm not certain. He is happy for
me, there are tears in his eyes." Lia put her hand over
her mouth as she saw for the first time the look in
Obi-Wan's eyes. Her eyes filled with tears of their own that
overflow and cascade down her face.
"What is it you did see?"
Lia looked away for a moment, trying unsuccessfully
to stop sobbing. Her voice broke as she spoke, "He
is so sad, in so much pain. Qui-Gon will not live to see
his son. He will never hold him in his arms." She broke
down again. Burying her face in her hands, she rested
her head on her knees and cried.
The small Jedi master tottered over to the young woman
and rubbed her arm reassuringly. No words would
suffice so instead he offered silent comfort.
"He is so happy," Lia said through the last of her tears,
"I can't tell him this. I can't hide it from him either, though.
He will sense it in me. He was so happy."
"His happiness is with you for wanting to give a child to
him."
Lia was not listening, her mind raced with ways to alter
the future she had seen. "What if I never conceive? Could
that save his life?"
"Always in motion, the future. Save him you may or may
not, but destroy many others you will if a son Qui-Gon does
not have." Yoda stated.
"What do you mean?" Lia asked uncertain if she wanted
to hear the answer.
"Rule Darkness will, unless a son Qui-Gon has. Only the
child of Qui-Gon Jinn can save the one who will end the
Darkness."
**************
Qui-Gon had seen what Lia had not as she told him of
her vision. He knew he was not there at the birth of his
son and that could mean only one thing, that he would
be one with the Force before the child was born. He
would not share this with Lia however. It would only
hurt and worry her and he would do neither willingly.
The future is always in motion, he reminded himself,
none of this may come to pass.
Qui-Gon found Erryn Brum scanning some data disks
on an upper level of the Temple library. The young man
gave a start at the sight of the Jedi.
"Master Jinn," he began somewhat flustered, "is there
something I can do for you?"
Qui-Gon studied the librarian a moment before speaking.
"May I have a word with you?"
"Of course," Erryn said, putting the disks and scanner on a
shelf. He's going to ask me to stay away from Lia, he thought.
"I would ask that you keep this conversation to yourself." At
the younger man's nod he continued, "I am going to ask a
great favor of you, one I have no right to ask. You are by no
means obliged to grant me this request, but please hear me
out. I know of your feelings for Lia, I have sensed how strong
they are. I believe you love her a great deal."
"Master Jinn I..."
"Please, let me finish. There may come a day when I can
not be with her any longer. I would like you to look out for
her for me. I know she is quite fond of you, perhaps in time
that fondness could turn to love."
Anger surged in Erryn. His face flushed with fury as he
spoke, "Don't you dare hurt her! Being a Jedi master
does not give you the right to just dump her when you
get bored!"
Qui-Gon was amused and at the same time pleased by
the young man's reaction. He had chosen well. "Calm
yourself," he said putting a hand on the smaller man's
shoulder. "I would never leave her by choice nor knowingly
hurt her, I love Lia with all my heart."
"I'm sorry Master Jinn, please forgive me." He said, ashamed.
"There is nothing to forgive. You should also be aware
that there may be a child involved as well. Could you raise
another man's child as your own?"
"I would love it as a part of Lia and if she allows me, I will
take care of her, should the need arise. I will always be
there for her, Master Jinn. You needn't have asked."
"Thank you Erryn, I am in your debt." Qui-Gon shook the
young man's hand.
"I don't think Lia would like us having this conversation
without her." Erryn Brum said.
"Why do you think I asked you to keep it to yourself?"
*************
Lia sat alone on a bench in a secluded area of the
forested part of the Temple gardens. She had come
here immediately after leaving Master Yoda's office.
Her head hurt from all the crying she had done this
day. Why had she ever contacted her mother, she
wondered for the hundredth time. She was so happy,
she just wanted to share it with someone.
The light in the gardens waned as the illumination
banks powered down with Coruscant's setting sun.
Lia told herself she'd better go before Qui-Gon missed
her. Tears welled in her eyes once more as she
thought of the man she loved, who would never know
his son. She knew with their link that she could not
hide it from him, but how could she tell him. She could
not bear to see him hurt.
Lia felt the presence of the tall man as he stepped out
of the shadows. She ran to him, sobbing.
He enveloped her in his cloak, holding her tight. She
knew. He stroked her hair and spoke softly, "It's all
right, Lia. Don't cry for me. You have given me more
happiness than I could have ever dreamed possible,
more than most have in a lifetime. We must not let the
present be darkened by an uncertain future. We must
live in the here and now."
She nodded against his chest, of course he was right.
She knew he was right, they must enjoy their time together,
make the most of it. But right now Lia just wanted to hold on to
him and never let him go. Never let him meet the fate that
awaited him. She wanted to ask him to not take any more
missions, to stay here with her. But that would kill him
inside. He loved being a Jedi. She could never ask him
to give that up. Her voice shook as she aired the fear that
she had buried deep within her since their first night together,
"I don't want to lose you, Qui-Gon. I'm afraid."
Qui-Gon held her even tighter, almost crushing her. "Oh Lia,"
he sighed kissing the top of her head, "I know." It broke his
heart to see her so upset. "You mustn't be afraid Lia. A part
of me will be with you always, even after I have gone into
the Force, and I do not believe that time is coming soon. So
unless the Sith rise again, you could be stuck with me for
a very long time."
