"Security to transporter room three." O’Brien looked at the strangers thinking, that’s not Riker and Wesley. He had no idea who the two guys in the archaic brown robes were, but they weren’t who they were supposed to be. Well, he thought to himself, at least the older one still has a beard and the young one is cute.
From the platform Qui-Gon Jinn smirked. ::You hear that, Padawan? He thinks you’re cute.::
::Yah, well he also thinks this Wesley guy is cute,:: Obi-Wan sent with a pout. Then he looked around at their surroundings. ::Where are we, Master?::
::Well, it’s not Kansas, I’ll tell you that much.:: A strange female voice intruded, sounding amused.
"What planet is Kansas," Obi-Wan wondered as the doors to the transporter room opened and two men in black and gold uniforms walked in.

Deanna fought down a smile as she turned to Captain Picard. "Captain, we seem to have picked up two telepaths by accident instead of Riker and Wesley."
"Indeed?"
"Yes, Captain. They seem to be strong telepaths too." Her eyes opened wide as she felt the security guards minds go blank for a second and then change.

"You do not need to draw your weapons." Qui-Gon’s hand waved in front of the men’s faces.
"These guys seem harmless, we don’t need to draw our Phasers."
"You will take us to your leader." It was Obi-Wan’s turn.
"Come on, Captain Picard will know what to do."
The two Jedi followed eagerly, wondering what this could be about. ::Take me to your leader, Padawan? Isn’t that one a bit cliché?::
Obi-Wan shrugged. ::That’s what we wanted though, right?::
::Well, yes. That is the result we wanted.:: Qui-Gon put a hand on his Padawan’s shoulder and smiled. ::I just had a hard time keeping my face straight, that’s all.::
::My master? Laugh? Never!:: Obi-Wan’s thought was teasing as he looked up into Qui-Gon’s eyes.
::Watch it, Padawan, or--:: He broke off the thought as the doors slid open in front of them. As they stepped forward a lady with long dark brown hair and a teasing smile looked up.
"Captain, this would be Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn, the telepaths we picked up by mistake."
"Hello, gentlemen. I didn’t expect to see you on the bridge –before- I had a chance to invite you." The security team cringed under Picard’s withering glance, unsure what possessed them to jump the gun like that but sure somehow that they had acted correctly.
"So you are Captain Picard, and this must be the lady telepath we heard a few moments ago." Qui-Gon took the lead and Obi-Wan let him, falling into their traditional roles.
"Yes, I am Captain Jean-Luc Picard, and this is our ship’s councilor Deanna Troi. She warned me that you would coming straight here."
"Well, I’m not sure what happened," Qui-Gon began to explain. "But it always seems to me that the best policy is to go to the person in charge first when things go wrong."
Picard smiled, glad that he could deal with this situation personally instead of it happening in the middle of an emergency. "O’Brien, our transporter Chief, is looking into the problem now. He will probably be asking you questions about what you experienced when he has a chance."
"We will cooperate to the best of our abilities, but I’m not sure what good it will do."
"Do you have transporter technology where you come from? Were you transporting to somewhere else at the time you appeared here maybe?"
"No, and no. I’m sorry Captain, but my Padawan and I were waiting on a landing platform on Coruscant when everything started sparkling and humming, then we found ourselves here."
"Coruscant? Data, do you have any idea where that is?"
"No Captain, I can find no information on a place called Coruscant. Can you tell me, is it a town, city, province, state, country—"
"I find it hard to believe that you don’t know where—" Qui-Gon’s glare cut Obi-Wan off in mid-sentence.
"It is the Capitol of the Republic, the city covers the entire planet and both are called Coruscant."
Picard glanced at Data, who shook his head. "Which republic?"
"The Republic," Obi-Wan supplied with emphasis on the word "the".
"The Galactic Republic," Qui-Gon added when no one looked any the wiser.
"This may be a much more serious problem than we thought at first," Captain Picard sighed, walking toward his chair.
