Walking the sands of Tatooine, Ben reflected on times gone by
and wished that he might have somehow done something different. He
was a strong Jedi Master but he did not have the clairvoyance that
would have made so many things easier... And wiser. The night bird
sang somewhere off to his left and he paused to enjoy it. He lifted
his face up to the stars above him and memories washed over him of
other times and places.
You should really pay more attention to what surrounds you
old man.
Without opening his eyes or changes his stance in the
slightest, Ben Kenobi answered this voice from the past. "You are not
real and I refuse to converse with ghosts."
She laughed and stepped out of the shadows to his right. He
could hear the sand under her paws. He opened his eyes and saw the
silver tipped black fur and the eyes that looked violet until one
separated the pink from the blue. She purred as she rubbed against
his legs and he felt the softness of her tail wrap around his wrist
for a moment.
The feline stepped back into the shadows and when he saw her
again in a moment she was pure female woman. "You have not aged a
day, Nymkatte. I guess you really are a rather vivid hallucination
after all."
Nymkatte laughed and her grin was feline. "Obi Wan Kenobi, do
not judge kattes by your own feeble human standards. We are more
advanced than you might choose to think." She pulled him over to a
flat topped rock and sat with him. "We also live longer than anything
is meant to."
She sighed deeply and he did not need the force, which never
worked with her anyway, to sense her sadness. He placed his hand on
hers and asked her, "What is so wrong that you have come seeking the
solace of an old acquaintance such as I?"
A smile sadder than the sigh flickered over her features. "Am
I so obvious?"
"Fortunately, yes. I never could sense anything of you
through my force talents."
"That's how it's supposed to be."
"Is not."
"Is too"
"Is not."
"Is too."
"Is- Wait a second! I am NOT getting into a childish battle
like that with you!"
Nymkatte stuck her tongue out at him and he had to catch
himself from sticking his back out at her. He rolled his eyes and
relaxed against the rock. "Tell me what's wrong little one."
"You never did get sidetracked easily." She grinned and then
a certain gleam came into her eyes. "Except for a few...
Occasions..." She leaned closer to him.
Ben found himself in a situation that he had not encountered
for years and was surprised when he found his body reacting to her.
He captured her hand as it fell into his lap. He narrowed his eyes at
her and growled. "Nymkatte, I am an old man now and it's not nice to
tease."
"Maybe I like old men," she purred, then kissed him. He
wanted to answer her but when her tongue met his he lost all thoughts
but one. He moaned and lay back as she wanted.

Ben awoke in his own home, in his own bed and sighed.
Nymkatte had left and he never had found out why she needed solace
from an old man. He would probably never know.

Nymkatte sat at the controls of her ship as it sped into the
stars. After the jump into hyperspace, she looked down at the box on
the copilot's seat. A small bit of hair that was soft enough to be
fur lay in it with a letter from Whitekatte. "Oh, my son, my little
lost one, even what you became is now lost to me and my line dies
with your sister."
Kattes do not cry but her heart wept even after the comfort
of holding one who reminded her of others long gone. A malformed
laugh burst out of her. "For an old man, you still know what to do
Kenobi."
