*Dathomir*

*The recent events that have transpired in the further limits of the galaxy have gone unnoticed deep within the heart of the Quelli Sector. The fall of a tyrant, a battle amidst the stars, and the setting up of a new government, all of these things are very far removed from the daily life of those who dwell on the wild, forested world of Dathomir. For the forgotten, the witches, the males, and even the children of Gethzerion, life continues to go on as it has always been known.*

*Morning. A light mist hung over the trees, bathing the forest in a soft, dewy haze as the sun tried to cut its way through it. The ground was still cold from the night air and the individual tufts of grass still held tiny droplets of moisture. The birds had already risen, as the occasional caws and calls echoing through the growth would document, otherwise, most of the other wildlife within the wood was still under the sway of sleep. Or so one thought*

*Thud. The sound itself was muted, though one could not deny that it did, indeed, occur, even if there wasn't another sentient around who would have witnessed it. The mist swirled, being so rudely parted by a force other than that of Primordial nature itself. Soon, the mist had dissipated enough that the form of a crouching young girl was visible.*

*The girl could not have been more than sixteen summers. She was thin, wiry, and her figure could only be described as boyish, making her look as if she had just entered the threshold of puberty. Her eyes were bright blue, her hair, long, and a dark shade of brown that blended in with the hues of the tree trunks. Her clothes were simple- boots and a black, form-fitting jumpsuit with visible stitching where the rancor hide was pieced together. Her skin, though, was far from being flawless, and there, in the morning light, it seemed purple in places, as if it were covered with little bruises or blemishes. She seemed a product of this wild and untamed forest. Then again, she was, for this was Tisiphone, a daughter of Gethzerion who had come from afar to serve the great Mother of the Black River Clan, the boldest of Dathomir's Nighsisters.*

*Tisiphone rose to her feet. Her steps were quiet and careful and she sang no tune to herself, but reveled in the silence of the morning. She had completed her watch and now, it was time to return to the caverns, the deep underground lair of the others of her kind. There, the elders and her sisters would ask of her what she had observed, if anything lay amiss in the territory that they considered their own, and would send another to stand guard for the daylight hours in her place.*

*Yes, everything was quiet upon Dathomir this morning. It was one not unlike many others that had gone before, but would there more peaceful dawns such as this one? It would hardly be Tisiphone's place to say; war with the witches loomed largely on the horizon, but such matters were for the elders of the Clan to discuss. Tisiphone was, but a girl, a child, only fully coming to realize the awesome power she had been blessed with- the full benefits and curses of mastering Terana had yet been made known.*

*And so, far from the world of the Galactic Empire and the Rebellion, the Jedi and the Sith, the Privateers and the Corporate Sector Authority, there lie a much more simple world, devoid of much of the trappings of technology, but, nonetheless, a tableau where there were still battles to be won between the forces of Light and Darkness. It is here, that we shall begin our tale...*
