I sat frivolously at my desk. School was over for the present time, which was always a plus, but I found myself working again. My summer job. Summer job, I find the two words contradict each other, but I didn’t invent it so I guess I wouldn’t know. My stupid job was complete with all the things you didn’t want. I worked low paying uninteresting boring long hours (so many adjectives, so little time ::evil laugh::.)I was a secretary (dun dun dahhhh!) Not just any secretary too. See most secretaries actually do something, phone calls, typing, paper work, what have you. I on the other hand, did nothing. I sat and occasionally the phone would ring. That was it. Due to the fact that I had been forced by my father to take a job at the last minute, it was the last and only choice on campus. I didn’t have a computer, so I couldn’t read my beloved sithfic. I went to my next resort, a book. I had only been at this job for three weeks and I had already read just about every star wars book the county library had. That’s a hella lot. I tapped on the desk, and whipped out on my headphones. I added comments to Ewan Mcgregor’s rendition of "Your Song" for Moulin Rouge as I browsed through my desk and played with all the little accessories. Everyone wouldn’t be back for another hour at least, so I was safe.

"For me!? Oh but I will tell everybody. No I don’t mind you sexy sexy man. I know I keep it turned on. They’re blue. They’re not that sweet, but if you say so!

"Excuse me." Silently cursing I shoved a staple remove I was currently having fun with back into the desk, pulled off my headphones and shoved the drawer closed in a quick swift movement.

"Yes," I asked slowly looking up at the dark hared man in front of me.

"I’m here to see Mr. Geniva."

"He’s breaking for lunch right now, do you have an appointment?"

"I’m quite sure I do."

"I wasn’t informed but I can check. One second, I’ll be right back." I walked into Mr. Geniva’s office and looked on his schedule. No one was on there, just as I had expected. No one was ever on there. I walked back out to my desk.

"I’m sorry Mr......." The hall was empty.

"Well that was weird, oh well." I sat down again and noticed something on my desk. It was a card that read, "Offworld Nightclub and Bar, open Monday through Saturday from 7:00pm-3:00am. I started laughing hysterically, what a great joke! Robyn must have spent a long time on this one, but I wonder who she got to do it? Probably one of her many "suitors." But what if it wasn’t Robyn? What if it was real?

"Yeah right, you wish Xanatos would come and whisk you away from this horrible job!" I thought out loud. I laughed again and tried to figure a way to get Robyn back with her Prince William obsession. In the end I decided that I’d make up an email account for Wills@hotmail.com and write her a long love letter. She is so gullible even in that plan’s obviousness it would still be highly successful.

The rest of the day was uneventful, but it’s always happy when you get to go home. When I got back to my apartment I tried to find Robyn. She was talking on the phone, so I politely waited until she was done. She looked up at me.

"Hey! Want to do something tonight?"

"Yeah! It’s Friday! Oh yeah, maybe we’ll go to the Offworld Nightclub!?" I said and burst out in laughter. She looked at me like I had some kind of serious disorder.

"What the hell are you talking about?" I told her what happened at work in all of it’s detail.

"That was a really good one, I couldn’t have done better myself! I was so surprised! I actually seriously thought it was him for a second."

"Too bad it really wasn’t me." I didn’t’ have to ask her again. First, no offense to her or anything, but she’s not really smart enough to come up with something as big as that. Maybe, but probably not. Plus, she doesn’t lie, I mean she can’t lie without cracking up because she knows she’s tricking you. She wasn’t laughing.

"I wonder who it was then." I said.

"There’s only one way to find out. Want to go tonight?"

"Sure, I’m up for meeting a stranger in an unknown yet formidable location without any means of protection except my wit and ability to kick one’s balls."

"You need to start drinking decaff,"

"I know." Later that night we put on the "clubbing clothes." Robyn with her pretty black hair up in casual French twist and her skirt and sequined top, me with my sorta short blonde hair in it’s natural wavy-curls and my combat boots and black pants with a gold halter top (It’s all about the bling!) We were ready to rock and roll. Contrary to my belief, the club was real.

"Whoever arranged this whole thing must be pretty damn classy," Robyn said as we approached the club with it’s flashing lights, loud music, unique architecture, and large bouncer.

"Hi." I said to the bouncer, he didn’t look amused.

"Name."

"Sonia Dendria"

"Come on in. You’ve been permitted to bring your guest with you." We walked passed him, and Robyn looked more mystified then normal.

"Damn girl! He must be pretty important if you were ‘permitted’"

"I just want to get this over with so I can go on living my predictable life. Just the way I like it." We sat down, ordered some drinks, and scoped the scene. Typical club, that was always a good thing. I danced for a while, but I just couldn’t keep going. Something wasn’t right.

"You feeling okay? Oh I see, nervous about meeting mystery man."

"Yeah that’s it, I’m going to sit down okay?" I lied. I ordered a margarita, extra salt, and tried to chill out. The bartender came back with my drink.

"I’m supposed to give this to you." He handed me my drink and a note.

"Great, just fucking great. The guy has to pull the whole, ‘Oooo I’m going to buy you a drink and send you a mysterious note while I hide myself’ bit" I opened the note.

Hello my dear,

I see you’ve figured it out, I knew you would. Unfortunately, now is not the time for our paths to cross. However I can assure you they will soon, very soon. So just enjoy your drink and relax.

-Xanatos

I laughed, shrugged, and gulped down the rest of my free margarita, smacked my lips and thought for a second.

"I never saw the bar tender make the drink. Bad decision" at that moment I slowly faded away and collapsed on the counter. I awoke in a strange, yet welcoming room. I was seated in a chair, yet I was tied. In front of me sat the man in all his glory, Xanatos. His black hair hung freely, yet controlled around him, his blue eyes pulsated with intensity. His black leather trench coat and gloved fingers gleamed somewhat in the room’s light. I knew the man at work resembled him, but then I had shrugged off the idea, now I knew it was true.

"You must forgive me again for the current situations that you have been put through. These have been completely necessary, I feared you would not have a regular meeting with me. Yet, the truth of all this is that I’m a noble man with a business proposition. I have been looking for a secretary for some time now, but all of the prospective lacked a certain stature that I have to have. Then one of my informants told me about you. I decided to see for myself and discovered you are exactly the type of person I’m looking for. I understand you are currently employed, but I am willing to triple your current salary. So, what do you say?" I immediately started to laugh my ass off.

"Sorry, did I say something funny?" he said getting irritated.

"This is the best hallucination I’ve ever had in my whole life. Hello dream Xanatos, you are such a sexy sexy man! I want your body. Come here and untie me, then you can fuck me like I’ve never been fucked before! I smell of tide and biscuits," I said drunkenly.

"I obviously picked the wrong time to let you come to, perhaps if you rest a while you will be somewhat sane later." he snapped his fingers and a cloth covered my mouth as my view became blurry again.

When I woke up the second time, he repeated his deal.

"Yes, and when I say yes I mean HELL YES! I still think that this is fucked up but oh well."

"Oh I can assure you, this is as real as it gets."

"Can you untie me now? Oh yeah and what did you tell Robyn?"

"You wouldn’t believe how easy it was to pull a whammy on her." He snapped his fingers and a large bodyguard came and untied me.

"Much, much better. Hey, can I call you Big X?"

"No."

"So I call you Xanatos?"

"No. You are to refer to me only as Master. Strict policy of all employees of Offworld Enterprises."

"I see. When do I start?"

"Monday, if possible. Talk to my head advisor before you leave, he’ll fill you in."

"Thank you."

"No, thank you." I got up and started to walk out the door, but he stopped me.

"One more thing, don’t ever let me catch you listening to that Mcgregor bastard in my presence again. If I do, you will be very regretful for your actions."

"And why would I be regretful?"

"Don’t test me, there are very few who have tested me and lived to tell about it, and most of the surviving don’t have a way to tell about it."

"I’ll keep that in consideration."

"You’ll follow it. When you’re in my world, you abide by my rules or you get bitch slapped."

"Okay..... Master!" I said teasing. He stifled a grin as the doors closed and I was left alone with the advisor. I was given a bunch of paperwork, details, etc. What was I going to tell Robyn?

The First Day

I walked in the office entrance with a box and my id card.

"Miss Dendria I presume, this way please," a man said meeting me at the entrance.

"I am the assistant advisor Stan Renkay. If you ever have any questions don’t hesitate to ask, you’ll love it here."

"I’d shake you’re hand but that’s kind of not possible at the current time."

"Here we are. Your desk is in front of the Master’s office, he is very happy to have you added on to the team."

"Thank you." I said as he walked off and left me alone at a black marble desk. I plopped my box on the top of it and started unloading. I had a computer and phone already there for me, and my pictures, nick knacks and flowers now gracefully accompanied them. The built in intercom buzzed.

"Yes?"

"Sonia I need to see you in my office."

"Yes, master." I opened the big double doors and walked forward to his desk.

"Sonia I have a kink in my back, would you mind working it out?" I walked over behind the chair.

"Where exactly is it?"

"Right between the left shoulder blade and spine." I put my hands onto his muscular back and began to work my magic. His muscles were so, toned, and wow what a man. I tried to control it, but I was getting really turned on by it. His pleased moaning really wasn’t helping either. He made an amused grunt. I abruptly stopped, visibly getting uncomfortable in the current situation, barely being able to compose myself.

"I should probably be going, I do have other work to attend to."

"Of course. I have a feeling you will make an excellent employee." He was obviously really amused by my tenseness, I was irritated at him for being so too. I wondered if he had done it on purpose, just to tease me.

And as the first week went by, I definitely had earned my money. Xanatos’ teasing behavior continued as well. Asking for massages, checking over my shoulder, "helping" me with things, finding ways to "accidentally" bump into me or touch me. So, Friday finally came around and I was happy. Not only did I have two days of R&R and no Xanatos, but my band was also performing that night opening for a big band at a local venue. It was a big thing for us, we were really lucky we got the gig. I watched the clock, desperately awaiting the moment when the hand would hit 5. I had five minutes left, and just then my intercom buzzed it’s torturous buzz. I hissed at it and walked in the room putting on my "I’m just pretending to be nice because I have to" face.

"Ahh, Sonia, I have a question for you."

"Yes."

"I’m attending the symphony tonight, I was wondering if you’d care to join me."

"Thank you for the offer, but I already have plans."

"Can you not cancel them?"

"No, it’s something I can’t cancel."

"Well, you’ll cancel them for me, won’t you?" he said trying to gently ease me with a whammy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not gifted with the force at all, but I am very tough mentally. I would never let anyone get into my mind without permission.

"No, I won’t" I said, developing an edge on my voice.

"What is so important?"

"None of your damn business."

"What did you just say?"

"I said, NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS."

"You are not to speak to me like that, ever! I am more powerful then you can ever imagine, in more ways than one. I have connections, and I can make your life a living hell if I feel like it, so don’t ever, ever, for one minute think that you are better than me." Oooh he’s hot when he’s mad, shut up brain! I thought to myself.

"I’m sorry master. I am the singer in a cover band and we have a very important, once in a lifetime, gig tonight. I have been long awaiting it for about a year now. I am both flattered and appreciative of your offer, but I am afraid I will have to decline. May I leave now?"

"Yes Sonia, you may. But you owe me one for letting you get off this time." He smiled a sexy little grin and turned around in his chair. As I walked out the door I mouthed psycho.

Later that night, my fellow bandmates and I anxiously waited backstage. At our cue we walked on stage, I grabbed the microphone and tried to ease myself. I looked to the audience and saw Xanatos staring straight at me from the front row. Why will he not leave me alone! Just don’t look at him.I was mad, but I wouldn’t let him ruin it for me, so I continued on. I started to sing my song.

"I want nothing, you took something from me and now you’ve disappeared. Your right where I want you. You said you wanted it, alright. No, it’s not alright. No, It’s not alright. No, It’s not alright, no. I want something, ain’t all that is in my closet. Dig forever they’ll never search he’s out of sight. No, it’s not alright. No, it’s not alright. No it’s not alright, no. I’m cold, so cold, my love I want you, want you. No, it’s not alright. No, it’s not alright. No. No."

Playing Kittie always got us some good applause. We continued through the night playing out rock and alternative songs. We did great, I was really proud of us. I helped pack up everything, and was ready to after-party into the wee hours of the morning. Then, I felt someone creep behind me.

"You aren’t exactly the symphony, but no one is."

"Is that supposed to be a compliment?"

"It’s supposed to be whatever you want it to be. Would you like me to escort you home?"

"No, thank you. I’m going somewhere else."

"I think you’ll have a much better time with me."

"Sorry, but I think srongly otherwise. Listen I’ve spent all week with you, if you don’t mind I’d like to have a chance to go out and have fun for two days. Is that so much to ask?"

Robyn came up from the distance.

"Hey you were great! Oh, who is this?"

"Just an admirer." I shot him an evil, go away look.

"Hmmm, he looks like that Star Wars guy you’re obsessed with!"

"Obsessed?" he said smiling.

"USED to be obsessed with. I recently had a big change of heart. Anyway, he was just leaving." His smile faded and he disappeared. I happily talked to Robyn as we made our way to the car.
