~Prologue~

It has been over 75 years since NASA heard the last faint and very distant
signal from a probe launched during the mid 20th Century. It was called
Voyager.

And now, it is far beyond our hearing.

*******

"Sir, we have picked up a signal of unknown origin. We are running it
through our systems to see if we can decipher it and its origins." A young
crewman of the ship called Nes'Vara, exclaims aloud to his captain the
instant he heard the signal in the headset of his station.

"Keep me posted insign Yaves." The captain returns, his curiousity and
interest peaked by his subordinates discovery.

Minutes pass, all crew members in the main control deck of the cruiser
class ship Nes'Vara, keep their ears glued for anymore news about the
mysterious signal.

"Captian, sir, I have located the origin of the signal...a primitive probe
located in sector quadrant 365-5231."

"Hmm. Let's pick up the probe and see what we can learn about it. Inform
Chancellor Valorum of the discovery."

~Part I~

Washington D.C. 3:45 PM Eastern Time.

"My day has sucked so far - I am fired from the best job I ever had
because of something someone else did, I caught my now ex-fiance sleeping
with a slutty blonde bimbo who works at the club he works at and worse
yet...I'm late! Off all things! Why does it have to happen all at once?" I
think with a long drawn out sigh as I sip at my french vanilla cappacino
while I walk slowly along one side of the long pond at the base of the
egyptian style stone monument, making my way toward the large nearby park
where I sometimes go to relax and center myself after a long hard day. And
what a day it has been too!!

As I near the park, I can hear the distant sound of a jet in the sky, but
I realize that it is growing louder and it does not sound like any jet or
airliner I have ever heard before.

But I ignore the sounds, thinking that it is another airplane and my state
of mind may be playing games on me, and I continue on my way.

Suddenly, just as I drop my cup into a nearby trash can, the ground begins
to vibrate as the sound I had thought a jet, is louder than ever before, and
then a large black shadow falls over me.

Quickly, I raise my eyes to see what had made the shadow and instantly, my
eyes go wide as I find myself looking up at a space ship.

I watch with awe, disbelief, fear and curiousity as the ship flies over my
head and then the ship slowly lands in the wide open area of the park about
5000 feet ahead of me. And then I realize that I recognize the ship...but
how? From where?

It looks like a hammer-head shark, beetle and milk carton mix all together
in shape and it is red in color.

As the ship comes to rest upon its landing struts, those in the park begin
to gather - at a safe distance, eyes wide as they look upon the space cragt
that has landed right in the middle of the largest park in Washington D.C.

Then with a hiss of released pressurized air and fog, a section of the
ship's underside begins to lower - a ramp.

Moments pass, after the ramp had settled upon the ground, a figure begins
to descend the ramp, then a second - both wearing brown floor length robes,
the deep hoods pulled forward upon their heads.

I move closer, closer than any of the others who have gathered to watch
the greatest and most historic of sights, and the answer finally found for
the question: Are we alone in the universe?

Somehow all this seems familiar, but I still cannot place it as I slowly
move closer and closer.

The two figures step out onto the grass, looking about at the world about
them, their hands tucked in the sleeves of their robes.

Minutes pass like eternity - time almost seems to stand still as all look
upon the tow mysterious robed figures from space.

Their hands slip from out their sleeves and raising their hands to the
edges of their hoods, they suddenly toss back the hoods from their heads,
revealing their true appearance.

Instantly I hear gasps of surprise and disbelief, but as I look upon the
two beings, I almost collapse to the ground in utter disbelief, for standing
there, in their tan and brown clothing is one man with long brown greying
hair and beard and mustache upon his middle-aged face and the other has
short cropped brown hair, a single thin braid over his right shoulder, about
half the age of his companion - and they are both human!

And then it hits me like a truckload of bricks - I know who they are, what
they are and where they are from! Qui-Gon Jin, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master
and Padawan...from Star Wars!!!

"No way! No fuckin' way!" I think aloud, not believing what my eyes see -
but they are there - here, standing right before everyone in flesh and
blood!

"Master Qui-Gon Jin. Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi." I murmur softly, not being
close enough for them to hear, but suddenly the two Jedi turn their
attention my direction, they finding a young woman dressed in full black,
caustiously moving toward them.

"Oh crap!" I think as I remember that they most likely hear me through the
Force, mentally smacking myself for my forgetfulness.

"Miss, you - come here." Orders Qui-Gon in his slightly accented gentle
tone.

I jump instantly, but I nod my head slightly and I move toward the two
Jedi.

I stand before the two men not knowing if I should bow or what, but I
remain standing and as motionless as possible.

"You know of us?" Obi-Wan asks, his blue eyes searching, seeming to look
straight through me.

"Yes I do. You are Master Jedi Qui-Gon Jin and you are Padawan Obi-Wan
Kenobi. Everyone on the planet know who you are and the place you are from."
I answer, not quite sure if they would understand the concept that they are
well known movie icons and house-hold names.

They say nothing, but I do notice the odd look upon Qui-Gon's face as he
turns his eyes to the people still gathered, watching with disbelief.
